WATERMELON – ASAHI MIYAKO F1
An early hybrid variety that thrives in cool summers, ensuring an abundant harvest. The fruits are delicious and aromatic with reddish–pink flesh and dark green skin. Mature fruits are about 7–8 kg. Can be grown outdoors and in greenhouses. When growing outdoors, choose a sunny, warm spot. Soil should be water and air permeable and weed–free. Sow 1–2 seeds per cup for optimum germination. The optimum growing temperature is 22–28 °C during the day and 18–22 °C at night. Lower temperatures hinder seed germination and may even lead to rotting. Seedlings should be transplanted to their permanent location. Transplant after the last frost date. If you plant seedlings outdoors, we recommend covering them with gardening film. Harvest before the first frost. Plant 1–2 plants per 3 m2.
