Annual, easy–to–grow flowers. The mature seeds can be used as a spice. The flowers are usually solitary and have a diameter of 3.5–4 cm at the tops of the stems. They have coloured sepals in blue, purple or whitish tones, with greenish tops and veins underneath. Ideal for planting in clusters in beds and flowering meadows, and are perfect for picking. Seed boxes can be dried for bouquets. Does not need special soil conditions and is self–seeding.
