Perennial plant flowering early in spring in flower beds. Cut flowers are arranged in bouquets. Plants are combined with other spring flowering plants in flower beds. Growing in small groups of 5–10 bulb-tubers looks best. The ideal growing place is sunny or half shady flower beds protected from winds. They thrive in humic, loamy, rich soil of neutral acidityu (ph 6,5–7,5). Tulips require arable layer of minimum 30 cm depth to absorb moisture well, to be loose and air-permeable. Digging out tulip bulbs every two years is recommended. If not replanted, tulips tend to have smaller flowers or stop flowering completely.
