Fritillaries are perennial flowers with distinct flower heads. They usually bloom in May and last for 2-3 weeks. They are planted in various spots in the flower bed or garden: larger ones in groups of several or a dozen by decorative shrubs or larger flowers, and smaller ones in rockeries, lawns, or borders. They prefer not too wet, crumbly, not too heavy soil, and sunny or temporarily shaded locations. Easter egg flowers do not require special care; it is essential that the soil is loose and free from weeds. Stalks are pulled out when they are completely dried; otherwise, the bulbs suffer. They can grow in one place for 3-4 years. The scent of these flowers repels rodents that cause considerable damage to flower beds. Therefore, it is recommended to plant Easter eggs near tulips to protect tulip bulbs from rodents.
